Don’t really go out to Worcester too much but getting together with a friend tonight. Looking to hit up a few bars. A lot of bars have changed since last time I’ve been. I’m looking for a place where I can grab seat at the bar or a table near the bar. Sports on TV. Decent crowd - ages 21-35.

I used to like going to Compass Tavern but they closed down.

I like hard liquor so no breweries.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: For those who care, went to the banner (an old favorite) & steel & wire bar thanks to the suggestions on this sub. Dope place, great drinks.

The Mercantile has two huge bars with tons of TV’s.

Actually went to the Mercantile about a month ago but just for dinner. It did have a nice bar set. Forgot about that.

If you need sports on TV, Funky's is a good spot.

If you're flexible on that, I'm a huge fan of the Sundown on Green St.

For interesting and tasty cocktails (and a place that also has food options): the Muse near the Hanover theater, Armsby Abby, and Lock50 in the canal district. If you want to sit right at the bar, the muse and armsby are my favorite for that.

Boland's bar and patio just opened up as an Irish pub where the Rock Bar once was in the canal district at 81 Water St. Great owners, should bring something new to the area.
