Hi. How do I contact a moderator. Apparently my reply to the lesbian bar post crossed a line. I’d like to know what line it crossed.

I think it was the comments, not the post. Nice post, toxic comments.

BTW this is not the first lesbian bar in Worcester. That would be Isiah's back in the 70s and 80s.

Well, you wrote

>It’s not “a good bar”. It’s not a “friendly bar”, it’s not a “neighborhood bar”. It’s a “lesbian bar”. Identity politics at its worst. In the restaurant business you want to be an inviting welcoming place, this is the antithesis of that. I’m honestly surprised they found financing.

I don't know if it technically crossed a line, but it's pretty dumb. Also, I'm a straight guy and I've been to lesbian bars, with lesbian friends who've invited me. No one excluded me for being a guy, and I wasn't victimized by identity politics.

“Dumb” is an opinion, and even if I agreed it was dumb, is that the criteria these days? It’s my opinion that this business will fail in a year to 18 months because they have chosen to label themselves. However I still don’t understand why I was shut down.

Like I said, your comment was dumb - my opinion - and I'm not sure it crossed any actual lines.

I hope the business thrives. There are many gay bars in America, but only a few dozen lesbian bars, and it would be a nice accomplishment for Worcester to be one of the very few cities that actually has such a bar.

You might not know this, but bars label themselves all the time. Have you heard of "Irish bars"? Or "jazz bars"? Or "piano bars"?
