To work, part of you must be touching the rock. The best advice is to transmogrify with it inside you. Otherwise, someone might take it, leaving you transformed, forever by chacham2

I like the approach in your story. I'd prefer elaboration instead of a story with a surprise sacrifice, where we don't even get to see the result. To me, this is kind of an outline. A good outline though. Thank you for the story!

I think it’s perfect as a short story, kept me guessing till the end maybe cuz I’m dumb lol and the reveal was succinct without need for elaboration.
