What? I only see it at busy pedestrian crossings, which makes perfect sense. I know people who've been hit in the crosswalk in Ballston, for example.

It increases the likelihood of striking pedestrians. DC is working to ban right turns on red.

This. Right on red causes pedestrian fatalities and should be banned

Of course. Because you are most likely not from here.

For your education, America was built on personal freedoms, not people telling us constantly what we can't do. If you want that, go to Europe.

...? Are you saying right-on-red is FREEDOM? Did you really just say that traffic laws are socialist and this is 'MURICA? Do you think speed limits and traffic lights are relics of communism too? And why exactly would you think someone is from Europe because they point out that right on red is dangerous?

I find that it’s mainly in intersections where there is no clear view of cross-traffic, and where more accidents tend to happen.

When a person driving a car executes a right on red it is extremely dangerous for people walking and biking. People still do them all the time here.

Maryland drivers probably ruined it for everyone /s.

But it makes sense that's more the norm than the exception in one of the smallest, densest counties nationwide.
