I'm finishing my degree online right now and have already moved to the area in hopes of getting a job with my degree upon graduation

I love watching movies, checking out museums, trying new restaurants, seeing live music

Besides befriending my coworkers I'm not really sure how to meet people my age

I read somewhere that people need about 80hrs together to go from acquaintance to friend. While I wouldn’t consider that specific number gospel, friendship takes consistent time together to form, which is why random meet-up groups didn’t work for me even though I really liked the people I met. I would look for clubs that meet consistently once or more every week that don’t have high turnover. Perhaps volunteer at a museum? Or take a cooking class? Even though it didn’t work for me, if you’re able to find a meet up group for, say, a type of live music that meets regularly and doesn’t have high turnover, it might work for you.

I did one of those Volo leagues in DC and thought it was fantastic for meeting people.

Social sports and volunteering are easy marks. Also check Meetups.

Meetups related to your interests whether on meetup.com, Instagram, DMV Facebook groups. Keep showing up until you click with some then get to know them.

I used to chat with everyone at Clarendon Gold's Gym and made a ton of friends there. Also Martial arts. District Martial Arts is in Ballston and has tons of young people who moved to the area who want friends. If you put yourself out there you will find people who want to have a social circle to live it up with
