One suggestion is to walk up to a front desk of a hotel and ask if their parking lot requires a parking ticket. A lot of hotels let customers park their cars without any signage, which also means you can just park your car overnight for multiple days without staying at the hotel. I've done this at Marriotts before, just not ones in Arlington.

on the other hand, Crowe Plaza in crystal city charges $40/night. Parked on the street right around the corner in front for free.

Interesting. I guess a lot of these hotels near DC actually charge for parking. That's unfortunate.
