Damn, I looked it up, only 4 bucks? I thought it was way more considering how much it gets stolen.

It’s around $30 for the brick/ingot. Old copper scraps for around $3.50 these days, at least around here.

Electrician here. Copper is pretty heavy - for example 500 kcmil wire is 1.54lbs per foot. I can spend a Sunday cleaning up some scraps and make $1k in one trip to the yard.
