Is that a disease prevention or ownership? We used to keep track of 150 registered (milk cows and replacement stock) without any marks at all other than vax tattoos.

Ownership. The long number is owner and the 4digit one is the cow's number. 23 since born in 2023 and 11 since it's the 11th calv born in 23. The electronic tag can be synced with automatic feeding stations, milking robots and a lot more.

Ah, thanks. Dad had a thing against what he called mutilations and wouldn't allow it. Wanted everything to be a show cow. We didn't have any technology that needed syncing. Tractors, pitchforks, shovels, buckets, and de Laval.
