Idk but it doesn't seem right to me. A wild fox wouldn't sleep out in the open like that

I expect it would seek some amount of cover to nap. Eagles are a threat even to adults. But who knows maybe there aren't any where this fox lives and that stump is pretty high so it is safe from ground threats. No matter it's a cute picture and I don't know much about foxes so now i can enjoy watching some documentaries on them
