Yeah, I've had two dogs with dry eye and that's a telltale sign. In the meantime, you may want to get some Sterile Eye Ointment - you can get at any drug store in various brands like Genteel, etc, and put a 1/2" ribbon in the eye a few times a day to keep it healthy and comfortable. Dry eye is quite painful for the dog and it can cause corneal scratching/abrasion, scarring and even loss of the eye if left untreated. Better safe than sorry. Thank you for caring for them!

PS: You may see discharge and crust from the eye, that is normal with dry eye, you can use a warm damp washcloth and wipe that off before putting ointment in.
