That’s how it works, they choose you. Enjoy!

Or, you know, it has an owner who is desperately looking for it and in distress.

I hate this attitude of just because a cat shows up at your house now means you "own" it.

No, your selfishness is likely depriving another family of a loved pet

Yeah, I respectfully disagree. Our indoor/outdoor cat Luke most likely “lives” at 10 other houses but he knows where home is. It’s literally impossible to force a cat to stay where they do not want to be. True story - if your cat is lost more often then not it’s a direct reflection of the cats personal preference. Which isn’t the house they are currently running away from.

Thank you for being caring and giving her a place. I’m certain if she’s someone’s pet, she’s very lost and has come to you for a reason. I hope you can keep her if her owners don’t find her.

Is her L ear tip cut off? Not a lot but just a tad? Is her tummy when standing walking her skin kinda hags down like she once had many litters? I swear that looks like a stray that I used to feed and let in every now n then here in Phoenix. She went missing like 2months ago. I sure hope that isn’t her…. Green eyes? There were some families that recently moved away in this neighborhood so there is a chance it could be her….

Neighbors say she’s been around for a couple years. Her stomach doesn’t hang down so I don’t think she’s the cat you’re looking for but I hope you find her

Phoenix is a bad place for outdoor cats, sadly. Phoenix native here. I found this big boy in Virginia after someone dumped him (and yes, I made absolutely sure he was a dump) and brought him with me when I moved back to Phoenix. Meet Theta.

Brown tabbies are relatively common. They tend to be very large and very gentle. I have a big 15 pound boy I rescued in Virginia after someone dumped him. He has such an amazing personality.

Hurricane Ian, so I'm assuming Florida or the Carolinas.

In Phoenix? Coyote probably got her. Lone outside cats have a new average lifetime of only two years. Cats in colonies only have ac4-5 year average lifespan. I'm sorry, but your cat friend is likely gone from this existence.

Coyote/dog hybrids are spreading across the US. They're in every continental state, even Florida. Sometimes they even attack people.

I don't have a cat, I just know a cat that would be really mad if she heard me say that.

First off thank you on behalf of the cat. And second , I think you were picked because you can be trusted :)

Good luck earning her trust. Brown tabbies tend to be overly large and overly gentle.

Put in a cat flap if she's lacking chip & collar. You can get the kind that only opens with a magnetic collar for her.

We’ve talked about doing this. I’m not sure how to install one without it looking completely out of place. I’m also worried that she won’t use it and will instead shred the screen again if I replace it.

Cats can learn how to do things like go through a flap.

My cats know their names, they come when they're called & one of them fetches.

Could you perhaps hide it behind a bush? You appear to have room enough to plant one, maybe.

It's pretty easy to fix/replace a screen. You can even patch it if you like. For replacement you just need new screen, a tool that costs less than $5 plus the spline. They sell pre-cut screen at hardware stores.
