I've never owned a cat, but this kitten came up to me and was so friendly so I fed him. I made him some non-seasoned eggs since I read that was ok for cats. He then he decided he lived on my back porch. My nephews named him Leonardo Dicatrio. I loved it.

Eventually, he was so convinced he lived at my house, he would meow loudly at my back door all the time. My neighbors told me to let him in to shut him up. I had to explain that he wasn't my cat. If I opened a door, he would try to get inside. I bought a little cat house with a heating pad for him to sleep in during the winter since I didn't want him to get cold.

On new years eve, I noticed he wasn't meowing. I found him hiding on my front porch cause he was scared of the fireworks. It was the first time I let him inside. The little guy was so tuckered out. He also had a wound on his leg, so I let him stay inside for a few days.

Later in the week, his wound looked worse. Since he also wasn't fixed, I took him to a TNR place so they could take care of him as I had no idea what to do. While he was gone, my wife and I missed him so much, we decided to fill out the paperwork to adopt him.

It's been almost a year now and I can't imagine life without him. He's currently sitting in my lap and cleaning himself while he purrs. He's the best pet I have ever owned and has completely changed my perspective on cats.

Because he was outside and hungry for so long, he's been incredibly easy to train too.

He used to jump at my hand while I was trying to feed him, so I trained him to patiently wait for his food. He also loves to chase after toys I throw, so it was easy to teach him to bring the toy back to me. After a long day of play, I usually feed him his evening meal by hand with some snuggles.

He is truly the best.
