Mine prefers the water that collects on the bottom of the humidifier when I go to refill it. Quickly learned to take the whole thing with me so he doesn’t make himself sick.

Filtered sink water or puddled water on the balcony? Definitely the second one.

Or roll in llama poop.

Are you giving him water in a bowl? Sometimes cats prefer to drink out of a fountain.

I have 2 different fountains and several bowls for my /r/renalcats. My boy loves the tub water most of all.

Shower door water has mineral scale.

I don't know if all of them do but the one I had did a few times. Just the grossest. Good thing she was the SWEETEST cat otherwise.

My black lab only drinks out of the running bathtub faucet. Tried a handful of circulating water fountains but she never stuck to them.
