He said don't BUY one, seek them out in shelters instead. I don't think it's a bad thing that he points out their susceptibility to skin cancer, FFS, why wouldn't you warn people?

Jack is a rescued albino* Doberman whose ears were cropped before we got him.
*Albino Dobermans have OCA Type 4 which presents with blue eyes instead of red. Deafness is not characteristic, but their eyes are very photosensitive. They’re also far more susceptible to skin cancer due to their reduced pigment and can sunburn very easily. Because of the significant chances in developing skin cancer, breeding should only produce standard color Dobermans. If ever considering an albino Dobie, search out rescues and never buy from an unethical breeder who purposefully breeds for albinism.
