I can safely say that the orange one has an excellent selection of chairs in the middle price range.

We do have almost 60 cats at the shelter but only 5 or 6 are in the reception area. Heidi, the white one, is our mascot. Aneth (Dill) is the black one and Jeremy is the ginger. We also have Evelyne and Oompa. And old man Daniel (15) often takes a nap here.

Okay, so Jeremy should become director of procurement if the budget is expanded next year.

As for the chair, Jeremy was not wrong, my experience confirms that, after years spent on the kitchen chair, I feel much better now.

What duties do the other two have?

Jeremy is going to be adopted really soon. So the budget is gonna stay the same. Aneth is leaving us this week for her forever home. So I will be left with Heidi who has been our Supervisor for years now. That’s why she has the best place to get lots of love and watch us at the same time.

I’m downtown Québec city Canada. People who adopt here have to promesse to keep the cat inside. We specialize in feral cats and we are kind of tired to have to treat injured cats. Last winter we had one with frostbites so severe he needed an operation to close the wounds.

We often have news from our cats and they are all spoiled rotten. There's one who has his own couch, some have their own room! We had a couple of people build (or buy) a big catio so they can go outside safely. The big ginger one, Jeremy, was a semi feral outdoor cat and it took some time to catch him. Now he loves inside living. He never even try to go outside. It's like he retired from street living. (His 2 brothers did the same)

You have to be really careful not to let them touch water or they multiply.

We had one a month ago from another shelter. They said he was "too agressive" and that he bite someone. Lol! He wasn't even 2 pounds ! He's a wild one, who wanted immediately to play with the big cats; he wasn't scared at all. He's getting adopted soon, I hope they don't have any precious breakable things in their home :)

Thank you! We think we will be successfully when all the cats are gonna have forever homes. (In our 26 years doing this it never happened). We are just trying to make the transition the best (and the shortest) that we can for them.

sonia72quebec OP t1_j2fnpt0 wrote

Nope it’s the white one! Heidi is our mascot and she always sleeps there. If another cat tries to take her place she’s gonna tell him/her to leave. Jeremy learned that really fast.

You are doing good work! Thank you for helping all the kitties!

We had one former stray that also got that "Been there. Done that."-attitude to going outside after a while. She could look out an open door, maybe sit down right outside the door but then look at you with a "Been there. Done that. Let's go inside now."-look.

Looks like my vet's office, they have 5 permanent residents. Or the people upstairs in my office building where they are socializing kittens/cats for adoption. I love going up there to "help," lol. I have 3, but some kitty time at work is good for the soul.

We rescued two sister from a hoarding situation 10 years ago. Unfortunately one of our sisters had mammary cancer and had to be put to sleep a little over a year ago (heartbreaking)…the other (Chloe) is going strong and testing us every day.
