Hi all. I'm moving to Baltimore (Rosedale) soon and need help from an electrician, most likely.

I have an EV and I was told via a virtual walkthrough from a prospective charging station installer that my detached garage does not have an adequate power supply. Also, they were under the impression that the city is not approving any new power expansion projects.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what the city is or isn't approving but Rosedale isn't in the city, so what matters to you is if the county is allowing them or not.

That's a fair point. I'll find out more once I'm up there, I'm sure. Just wanted to get a jump on information gathering before my move.

You are going to want 200amp service run to the garage.

Just call around to local electricians and get quotes. It's a pretty straightforward job.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems like it would be fairly straightforward.

If you are someone of means, look into solar panels on roof. A while back, I was getting YouTube commercials from companies offering to do it. I think you need approval from the Baltimore City planning board.

Thanks. I am considering solar. The roof was recently replaced, so no worries there. I mentioned that as a possibility to the installer and they didn't seem to think that it would make a difference.

I totally have to recommend THE ELECTRIANS. They are awesome, affordable, and very polite/clean.
