I watched SVU the other day with my husband just for the update on his character Munch. What a sad coincidence.

I had a lot of run ins with Belzer in the late 80s and early 90s when he I was trying to do the acting thing. We weren't friends, more like nodding acquaintances, but he was always kind and I was always glad I saw him. RIP, Belz.

Family members worked with him on Homicide. He was a great guy.

Yaphet Kotto and him used to come into the Daily Grind all of the time and make fun of us dirtbag skater kids. We adored him. He was who we wanted to be as adults. I hope I am 10% as cool as he was.

Det. John Munch. 10-7.

I would also like to point out how hilarious it is that he survived testicular cancer and made a comedy record about it called Another Lone Nut.

Damn RIP.

I was just finishing the last season of The Wire and noticed his subtle cameo in one of the bars.

Loved SVU

I just watched the episode on Friday of SVU where Finn says he lost touch with Munch (BS unbelievable storyline) and he thinks he moved back to Baltimore and bought he old bar back. RIP Belzer and thanks for the memories!

From the Hollywood Reporter--

"writer Bill Scheft, a longtime friend of the actor, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He had lots of health issues, and his last words were, ‘Fuck you, motherfucker"

The last of the harmless conspiracy theorists. He shall be missed.

I always enjoyed his appearance in *Get On The Bus* (also one of Spike Lee's most underrated films).
