Lutherville Walgreens was able to fill mine this week. Good luck - I've feared being in ur position with the news of shortages

I just got my XR a few days ago after waiting a month. It was sheer luck.

Pro-tip: ask the pharmacist what strength/forms they have and then bring that info back to your doctor and have them write for what’s available. If you usually take 20mg and the pharmacy doesn’t have it but they do have 10 mg in stock, then your doctor could write for you to have 60 count of 10 mg, taking 2 per day, instead of 30 count of 20 mg.

The pharmacy cannot make the substitute on their own - they have to fill the prescription as written so this only works if your doctor writes for what the pharmacy has in stock.

Also, your insurance may choose to act stupid about it, as they do with basically any medication changes at this point. Cash price on GoodRX isn’t bad though.

Source: parent is retail pharmacist and because of the adderall shortage, she has a list of local doctor’s offices that she notifies every day of what they have in stock so that the doctors can write a fillable scrip the first time.

My wife has been complaining about shortages and issues on and off for as long as she's been on it. This month, she had her order canceled multiple times but eventually it went through.

There seems to be a lack of focus on filling the orders.

I was able to get name brand at Costco. Requested an override from my insurance (they only pay for generic) due to generics not being available. They paid for 75% of it.

No, our household has had the same problem. Called many pharmacies and the only one who had it in stock wouldn’t release it for a new customer. Doc temporarily switched the person in our HH to Ritalin to have something to take rather than nothing.
