I am looking for bamboo to use for various DIY projects and trying to save some money while cutting back an invasive species in the process. Anyone in the north part of the city or south part of the county have bamboo growing on your property and don't mind seeing some of it gone?

I was hoping you were from the National Zoo and were going to announce that they'd start renting out their pandas to clear bamboo the same way goats are used to clear weeds.

If you go here on the Stony Run Trail there is a huge stand of it. It’s an invasive species so you can remove as much as you want, if you can haul it out of there.

There's also a large stand of it on Tyndale Trail in Herring Run Park.

There's a ton of it along the road/pathways behind the Baltimore zoo in Druid Hill Park.

There's bamboo growing on part of the Short Line train in Catonsville. I'd reach out to Catonsville Rails to Trails to see if they want some of it cleared. I remember they did some clearing of it a few years ago, but of course it's grown back. They are always looking for volunteers to help with trail maintenance, so this could be a mutually beneficial partnership.

I have a contract coming up to remove a bunch of bamboo. I'm getting paid so would be pretty accepting of someone doing some part of the work for free. I used to cut it myself to make flutes but this is a big patch encroaching a building and I'm doing it as a 'landscaper' for a close friend.
