My wife and I have one day in Baltimore next week and are looking to make the best of it! What are the can't miss things to eat, drink, and see while in town?

Thanks!

AVAM! Even if you don’t take the time to go through the museum, just walking around the outside is an experience. From there you can climb Federal Hill and take in a great view of the harbor.

Can’t go wrong with dinner at Charleston. A quick stop by Peabody just to admire the architecture could be a nice relaxing stop. If you have the time just a walk from Fells Point around the end the day at federal hill would be nice depending on the weather.

If aquariums are your thing, we have one of the best ones in the country, though it is pricey. If American history, Fort McHenry and the ships in the Inner Harbor. Otherwise, the Visionary Art Museum is a unique experience.

As a big walker here’s what I’d recommend for an epic walk:

  • Start in inner harbor near aquarium
  • head east exploring the piers using the waterfront walkways/boardwalks/pedestrian bridges
  • head east into harbor east and go up into little Italy
  • weave southeast through fells point until you get to Broadway Square
  • you can do some of exploring here. The loop of Thames St to Bond to Shakespeare is charming. Then head over to Pitango bakery and cafe on the water at St Ann and Fell St for lunch
  • If time: walk up through upper Fells Point to Patterson Park, then head back to Fells Point toward the water
  • walk back west on the waterfront boardwalk (green line on google maps) headed to Pier V. You can pick up the boardwalk in Fells Point in front of the Pitango on St Ann, or if you want a longer walk you can start the boardwalk a bit NE of there along the marina, starting at the eastern ends of Lancaster or Thames St, where they meet the water
  • once you get to pier V you can take the free city water taxi over to federal hill and walk over to the commercial area along/between Light St and Charles St for dinner

Is it Thursday? That's the home opener for Camden Yards.

The ONLY way to cap off the BEST single day in the charm city is a quick dip in the Inner Harbor.

It's a tradition on the rise... true locals always appreciate witnessing someone make their first "Crab Dip"

Top spot to plunge is the area between the pedestrian bridges by the Aquarium. If it's too crowed, an up and coming spot might is just around the side of the Under Armor hotel at the Rec Pier.

Anticipate lots of delighted cheers as you make your plunge, but make sure to bring your own towels to dry off.
