I have a serious craving, but just moved here and don't know where to start! I see a ton of options nearby.

Would appreciate suggestions that are good quality, good atmosphere, and good bang for the buck. Thank you!!

Update: We ended up going to Hot Pot King and I'm currently lying down in the car in pain for the drive back 🙂 AMAZING recommendation - the Hub in general is a super cool place although I'm confused why it has a Charley's, and you can't beat unlimited crab and oysters on top of the regular hot pot offerings.

Hot Pot King checks my two most important boxes: individual pots, and buffet access to meats (and all other ingredients), whereas a lot of other hot pot restaurants in the area require you to order meats from wait staff or a tablet. Also has a good sauce selection and a delicious wintermelon tea! It is lacking a bit in ambiance but I'm there to eat.

Rest of the Hub is worth checking out too.

I really didn't care for anything in the Hub. I thought the food was rather mediocre.

I haven't tried hot pot king though

We ended up going and the ambiance was great, honestly, I'm not sure what you're talking about!! Leagues above a regular strip mall interior. Thank you for the recommendation!!! I had a great experience 😁

Hot pot hero in Ellicott City is great! I’ve heard good stuff about kpot in Catonsville too

Hot Pot Hero is the only hot pot place I know that can accommodate large groups (10+), but if anyone knows any others, please share!

It's really the only hotpot I recommend to people. I've been to a few in the area, generation hotpot in towson, the hub(next to Iron age in Catonsville) and hot pot hero is really the best option with food choices and how nice the experience is with using the TouchPad

I been there and didn't care for it. I thought that both the hot pot and BBQ sections were mediocre at best and the only thing I did like about it is that you can do kbbq and hot pot at the same time.

This the man with the plan ⬆️ or if you want it all in one package, legends off Pennsylvania. Chicken, subs, whatever, plus all the green you need for great prices! (Allegedly I don’t know shit about anyone or anything that goes down there) but yea, check out legends.

I second Hot Pot King at the Hub and Kpot, both in Catonsville. I haven’t found a hot pot place within city limits that I like.

My preference is the Catonsville HMart and my kitchen.

Second this - broth is flavorful, buffet for vegetables and seafood, and meats and noodles are ordered on tablet. Of all the hot pot places in Baltimore and Ellicott city/catonsville this one is the best - close second would be Hot Pot Hero - only con with them (and it's not a huge con) is everything is ordered on tablet vs buffet option

Honey Pig in Ellicott City used to always make the list, but I haven't been there in ages not sure how they are more recently.

For somewhere within city limits there's Jong Kak.

I wasn't aware that either of those did hot pot?

They dont.

Honey pig has hot pot in their name, but again I haven't been in probably 5+ years. Admittedly, I've only been to Jong Kak for their tabletop bbq but they have hot pot on their menu.

Honeypig Does now

And Jong Kak has "dry hot pot" as my wife calls it. They make it as a single dish and serve in an unheated bowl. They have spicy monkfish and spicy chicken hotpot on their menu.
