Seems like a cluster F@&k out there. Why make it so hard to catch a game on tv a few times a week. When I was a kid. It felt like the O’s were always on regular tv. I’m not a diehard sports fan but I like to catch a game when the mood strikes. Hoping to take my son to his first game this summer too.

Really? When did they switch? 98 Rock always had the the Ravens and the FAN had the Orioles. Since I moved down to St. Mary’s last year I’ve been listening on WBAL.

Yea i read that they are losing fans cause baseball fans are older people and they are dying. Now they make it hard to catch a casual game. How you gonna make fans like that? Its all messed up. I catch raven’s games on the antenna. Why not Orioles?
I think this is more of a MASN is dogshit thing than a general baseball thing, but I could be wrong.
It’s a sports thing in general. Each league is on a different streaming service, and then you have to pay astronomical cable bills as well.
The difference between now and thirty years ago is that every game is televised. That wasn’t true back in the day. You’d get most of them on HTS, but there’d always be a dozen or so that weren’t.
Honestly the majority of millennials I’ve known in most cities are casual baseball fans at best, who enjoy an afternoon beer in the upper reserves. Almost all of the millennials I know that are actual baseball fans, do it because of their family traditions, but I do see them carrying it on in the current generation, but I still worry about access to the games on a regular basis it’s hard to be engaged.
See my other comment on Directtv stream. I agree it’s such bullshit, but this was a great solution last year and I never missed a game that I wanted to watch.
Baseball and money go hand in hand. From maybe the second baseball game ever played in 1800-whatever, baseball has always been about money. Everything about the game has been commodified and monetized for decades, on down to the peewee level. I agree that it sucks, but MLB exists to make money for billionaires.

98 rock broadcasts all the games and their commentary team is awesome. You can't stream on the app but fm radio is a great way to listen to a game. Brett Hollander does a really great job of painting a picture for you.
And it's $30 for the season or $4 a month to stream via the app if for any reason you don't get good radio reception.

VPN and MLB.tv and then chrome cast to my tv. That’s what I do. Works fine.
I used to do the same. But then I had kids and we got Disney+ and Hulu and Netflix and streaming costs started going up so my $99 a year plan got nixed. It was too much effort to jump through hoops to get the game setup too

Unless you have xfinity you are fucked. So pissed too as we switched to Hulu 5 years ago and it's been great, with the exception of I haven't seen an O's game since 2018 on TV.

MASN is the only place to watch O's games and MASN is only on Xfinity.
Don't think that's accurate. My parents have FIOS and they get MASN. In fact, I'll be going over to their place to watch Saturday's game.

Man good looking out. Was literally about to snag MLB.tv and this saved me $149. Just a fyi though to other peeps the blackout only covers live. I will usually get back and watch the game later if I can't watch it on Cable and it's not blacked out

I know this is an odd take but… Cross Street Market. Yesterday, while everyone was packed in the bars, there were plenty of open seating inside the market and they had the game on every TV in the place. They have very large TVs too so, good to watch from any angle.

Masn is how I do it. I don’t have cable but my mother does. And I just log in with her Verizon credentials and I can livestream from the website then cast to the tv. It’s a pain in the ass but maybe you know someone who has access and they can hook you up? Seems like every network gets a rotation of the games so you either have to buy every fucking service or go fuck your self basically lol

Terrible. The same shit happens for English fans who want to watch the Premier League. We can watch almost every game here in the US, but they can't see their teams. It's insane.
I was surprised yesterday to learn the blackout also applies to away games! I went to watch the away game IN Boston on the MLB app to discover it was also blacked out...like WTH was it expected a fan was to attend every game of the season.

I just found out yesterday that MASN has an app you can stream every game on. You have to sign in with your cable provider, but quality stream and go to see them almost give the game away yesterday

DIRECTV stream is what I used last year. It’s basically a cable package that includes MASN. I split it with a friend. The promotional deal last year was 70/mo for the first 3, then went up to 90. I ended up keeping it because it made it easier to watch any football I wanted to watch last year too.

I pay for cable. It sucks. Not only that but MASN isn’t offered in basic packages even though we are local. You always have to pay for a sports package upgrade to get any sports channels besides basic ESPN. I think finally there are no blackouts on mlb tv so you can pay like 100 something bucks to watch games via stream. I could be wrong tho. I’m to scared to find out.
In college I paid for mlb tv only to find out that blackouts were a thing back then and I could watch every baseball game except the orioles. I was beyond pissed.

Just about every Os game is on Masn or Masn2 and have been for the past many years...not sure what is hard about that. You can even stream games from Masn’s website. Out of market you can subscribe to mlb.tv. And you can listen on the radio...
