I work near UMD Hospital. Traffic is terrible on opening day...

Every.

Single.

Year.

Catch public transit/uber if you have to go anywhere. Parking will be hell. Traffic will be backed up all the way to midtown or Little italy.

IMO, yes. Especially depending on what garage you park in. BUT I worked nightshift. I drove to UMMC for many years and Os games were the worst between the traffic and being assigned to park in a garage that was also frequently used by game attendees, but I was traveling to work at the same time people were going to the game. I kept the Os home schedule in my calendar so I could either not work those days or leave early. I think if youre working a traditional day time schedule you would have much less of a headache.

An exacerbating factor this year is that they play the yankees. That will draw greater numbers of folks unfamiliar with Balto even if they live in the metro.

It’s gonna be hectic. For most games, expect (car and foot) traffic 1-2 hours before and after a game. If you can work from home, definitely plan for it!

It's going to be a lot. Definitely use public transportation if you can, or use Waze to route around congested areas.

We also recommend parking and then using scooters or rentable bikes to get closer.

Just assume traffic is always bad in downtown Baltimore. It’s a direct result of decades of decisions to devote the city to easy car access and reduce public transit options. Larry Hogan needs to rot in hell for cancelling the red line. Ride a bike.

For all of you who get your pay check in the city and take it to the burbs, This is part of the Faustian bargain you made.

Be brave and deal with it.

Unless you like sitting in parking lot traffic for 1-2 hours before and after the game... take the light rail
