Does anyone have any experience either volunteering or partaking in an internship through the aquarium? I’m going to have the option to gain credit from on internship for school, and i’m wondering if the experience through them is worth the 45 minute drive from frederick :)

I was an exhibit guide for a few years. Started in high school and did it up through a bit of college. Hit me up with any questions

I mostly did it for high school for my volunteer credit but then it became something for fun as I really was (and still am) into all things ocean.

Just a few more things to add to it, I made a lot of friends through it and met a lot of really cool people. You also can get access to some of the events they host if you sign up to volunteer for them which is pretty awesome. And then you can get to see a lot of behind the scenes stuff.

My friend's daughter interned at the aquarium and loved it!

I will say you may want to anticipate closer to an hour from Frederick depending on how easily you can get onto 70, the potential for traffic, and parking/walk to the aquarium from the parking area.
