We bought a house there six months ago and we like it quite a bit. Cheap COL, relatively safe, relatively friendly people, a few really good restaurants, an active neighborhood association in neighboring Lauraville. The only thing I wish we had was a good neighborhood bar!

I live in Hamilton and can attest to all of this

Good to know! Any restaurants you recommend? Also do you know about any parks or dog parks?

I absolutely recommend Silver Queen Cafe, Lost in the 50s Diner & Maggie's Farm.

Burdick has a dog park but I think there's registration required to use it. Otherwise I like Herring Run and Double Rock(a little ways up harford rd in the county).

Thank you for the info! The street we looked at seemed quiet and safe. Do you have a security system or one you’d recommend? We know we’ll get something set up but looking around

We got a Ring without those door camera things (i.e., just the door sensors). It was the cheapest option.

And any restaurants you recommend?

In addition to Kmic14's recs, all of which I cosign: Koco's for some of the consensus best crab cakes in the city and Cafe Campli for good Italian food. I keep trying to get people to go to the latter because it just opened up a block and a half from my house and I really want it to stay lol.

Zeke's (coffee/sandwich joint) is right there, too.

+1 for Cafe Campli. So great to have another good option close by.
