Huh. I’m getting a 45 minute projection on the bus from the same spot, followed by a 19 minutes walk.

Google maps cuts that walk to 5 minutes. I’m guessing that all drastically depends on where on campus it’s mapping to and how fast one walks.

Any reason you’re not considering Red? I think it’s a tad faster — obviously a different route though.

The 30 minutes comes from the website, only considers time on the bus. I get the same from apple maps, probably much more accurate. I'm a infamously slow walker.

No reason, just the first thing I saw. I'm a Maryland native but am new to the city and still learning the routes. The question is, are they both equally unreliable?

All of the color routes are generally reliable. You'll still want to plan for some delays/etc. especially at first until you figure our your office's tolerance for transit commutes.

But also: look at the JHU shuttle and Collegetown routes? Not sure where you are in Upper Fells, but getting a JHU shuttle from the hospital up to Charles Village and catching a Green or Collegetown bus from 33rd might be a better option.

To get on green from JHU shuttle you'd need to switch before the Green turns off Charles onto N Avenue. I would probably get off at Penn Station then take either Red, Green or 51, whichever is coming first according to the Transit App

You'll likely be looking at an hour or so in transit. Depending where you are in Upper Fells you can head towards downtown to catch the Red or Green line. Red will drop you off at Dulaney Valley by Towson Town Center and you'll need to walk up to Goucher there.

Green will drop you off on the back end of Towson Town Center on Fairmount and you'd walk from there.

About equal then, I think it may come down to whether one is more reliable than the other, if that's a thing. Thank you Baltimore guy.

Download Transit App. It can have some issues if there are diversions but is pretty good at identifying if the bus is going to show up, especially if it shows that the bus is tracking. Then you can choose between Red and Green depending on timing.

Just downloaded, looks pretty useful. Thanks! This may be a dumb question; is there a best way to pay for fare?

edit: to add the question

CharmPass is an app you can download that I find very easy.

Highly recommend finding a bike to shorten the walking portions of your commute!
