I wish, but they don't do anything now when I report them for free.

UPS would go out of business if they couldn't drive the wrong way up the Maryland Ave bike lane

My god. The tricycles. All of those guys are douches to the max. I really don’t mind people playing music in their car with their windows down or on a motorcycle, or whatever, but good lord those guys blast that shit as loud as they can so they can make sure everyone looks at them riding around in their expensive toy.

Would the cops typically handle these tickets?

Maybe we should shift that responsibility over to parking services, since they're the only department in the entire city that actually seems effective.

I was chewed out on this sub awhile back by some guy accusing me of gatekeeping motorcycling because I commented on how absurd these guys look. I don’t care about motorcycles. I’m sorry, if some dude is blasting mumble rap while driving down the street in what looks like an oversized Batmobile power wheel with funny lights all over, I’m going to comment on how ridiculous it is.

You can do this here already! But it’s more for data collection and not for fees yet. Still helpful. Use the 311 app > Signs, Signals and Parking > Parking Complaint > Provide location > Select “Bike Lane (parked in)” under “How is Vehicle illegally parked?”

Even if they do nothing, more people submitting these creates a list of evidence for the city that we can point to.

My question would be... do you get paid whether they pay their tickets/fines either way? Or do they have to pay their ticket for you to get your money?

Isn’t it legal to park in a bike lane unless there’s a “no parking” sign?

Also, bicycles should be restricted to skate parks and dirt trails anyway, they shouldn’t be on roads.

My question about this policy is if the reporter only gets paid if the ticket actually gets paid, not just if the ticket is written. I've seen horror stories about vehicles with thousands of dollars of unpaid tickets from school speed cameras & red light cameras that are somehow still allowed on the road.

Yeah but no. 311 doesn't care. I used to do this all the time. There's a bike lane near the harbor that taxis always park in. I used to ride everyday on my way home from work and reported every day. Nothing changed and the drivers were openly hostile when I asked them to move. Because they knew nothing will ever happen to them.

Lol. I stopped doing that after my first bike got stolen. They did nothing and I've had 2 more bikes stolen since then. No one in this city cares about bike safety, bike infrastructure or cyclists in general. But you keep fighting the good fight.
