Went PreCheck after missing a flight last June thanks to the security lines wrapping and wrapping and wrapping around. Worth every penny to get rid of the anxiety of missing a flight

I don’t check a bag and have TSA PreCheck and it takes me 15 minutes to get through security at most, even on the busiest of days

NGL BWI has some of the most efficient security in my experience. I flew out of BWI, to an international destination, with checked bags 2 weeks ago.
I was through check in at the airline counter and security and to my gate in under 30 min, and I ended up sitting there for 3.5 hours because my flight got delayed.

I felt this way pre covid but seems like it’s not the case. I keep waiting for the sweetness to return but two times before this almost missed flight due to long security line and this time, ppl legit crying in the line to check baggage knowing they weren’t gonna make it

Yeah idk, I’ve flown twice out of BWI in the last 6 months, with checked bags both times, and had the same experience, right through. Flying again this weekend hope I get the same outcome, maybe it’s just a time of day thing. Both times the flight was like midday, maybe it’s just less crowded then.

Yeah idk, YRMV of course but I just got through in under 10, no pre check or anything. Literally the longest part of it was going back through the machine because I forgot to take my wallet out of my pocket

Southwest check on was actually the worst. I couldn’t believe the lines. Outside curbside it was well over 30 yards. Inside it was snaking through the airport beyond the security gate further down from where the self check kiosks are. I’m not exaggerating

I flew Delta last week with no checked bags or TSA pre-check, I arrived about an hour ahead of departure and was through security in 10-15 mins.

Two weeks ago I flew out of BWI to Dallas on a Monday morning (9:45am) flight. I got there at like 7:50am, checked one bag (Southwest), got through security in like 15mins, and had a ton of time to kill. My gate was changed 3 times while I was waiting and I still managed to get breakfast.
I think that you experienced was not the norm.

It all depends on what time your flight is at. We had a midday Saturday flight on Southwest and the security line was empty. 10 minutes from entering BWI to gate.
I imagine if you are flying early mornings on weekdays it may be way more of a hassle.

I did not check a bag and used boarding pass on my phone. I was through in 30 min. Poor folks who were checking bags…so many ppl freaking out. I can’t even believe the lines to check in and get boarding passes this morning…never seen anything like it

My experience has been that the bag checking line is what's so long. TSA has been shockingly short still each time I've gone.
