If you book Amtrak far enough out you can get a round trip to NYC for less than $100.

Another note on Amtrak: if prices seem too high, keep looking daily for tickets. When people return their tickets via Amtrak, you can buy them at their original price. Multiple times throughout the day you may see tickets in the $30-70 range pop up that you can snag if you’re quick.

Yeah, Amtrak is a way more pleasant way of going to NYC. It's a shame that their last minute tickets are so pricey.

Last time I checked you couldn't book a train before late December that wasn't at least 70 something dollars one way.

Amtrak is my preferred way to travel, but unfortunately the day I'm looking at is $$$ even for coach. :(

I think got an email from boltbus a while ago saying they were closing and flixbus was taking over. But looking at flixbus it looks like they use a different stop.

flixbus is awesome, i use it to get to and fro NY all the time. 30 bucks one-way always on time and clean buses.

There are now providers on OurBus who pick up from Maryland Ave. The buses are unmarked other than “Brownin Transportation” “Z Tours” or “Superior Tours” but they offer multiple daily NYC trips from Maryland Ave to the Javits Center and to 26th and Park for $25-30

OurBus is the only one I have seen that stops on Maryland Ave.

No, BoltBus no longer exists.

I think most of the Big Name bus companies like Greyhound either depart from the Greyhound Terminal near M&T Bank Stadium, or elsewhere around the city, but not at Penn Station. I could be wrong.

Looking at OurBus, looks like you can book some smaller charters that go up to NYC from Penn Station, but no idea how reputable they are. You'd probably be better off getting transportation to the Greyhound Terminal instead, or take an Amtrak.

I took FlixBus over the summer, it was fine. Pickup was at Ponca & Eastern so definitely less convenient than Maryland Ave.

My only advice if you use them would be don’t bother paying extra to pick a seat, no one adhered to that and the drivers could not have cared less about it. And maybe bring a sweatshirt, it was freezing on the bus I was on!

Greyhound and Peter Pan both serve NYC from the Greyhound station down by the casino, much closer than Whitemarsh. China Bus is out by the O'Donnell interchanges, forget exactly where, I think on O'Donnell or the cutoff.
