Looking to take a scenic drive this weekend to see some of the changing leaves before they're all gone. Does anyone have any roads or parks that they would recommend for this sort of thing? I don't mind driving a few hours I can make it an all day thing.

Start on manor road in cockeysville and drive north. Then take 145 back to baltimore.

There is a stretch of Dulaney Valley road that is incredible.

There are three reservoirs in the Baltimore area. The scenery looking across the water is always the best and it's not that far. Otherwise it's going to the many cliffs on the Apalachian trail.

If you don't mind driving a couple hours, I'd recommend Skyline Drive in VA. I'd imagine the further south you travel, the further those locations will be from peak colors. Also, there are some great scenic overlooks along Skyline. My wife and I will typically drive maybe 30-or-so miles down and back, stopping and taking pics along the way, and then get some good pho from one of our favorite places in Northern VA on the way back home.

Depending upon how much time you want to take, you can also connect to blue ridge parkway at the end of skyline drive.

I just did skyline drive. 1.5 hours there, give your self at least 3 hours to go one way on skyline drive, then 1.5 hours back. So would be a long day trip.

Call the lodge out there first. I think it is well past peak out there. We used to go every year around the 10th.

there are some great roads if you drive north into Pennsylvania and avoid highways - I drove to a corn maze called Maize Quest last weekend and the scenery of North Maryland is incredible. The Susquehanna River area up past Bel Air is also a great day trip with some wild driving roads

The trees lining 95 from Middle River to Fallston are really stunning! (I noticed today while in traffic)

Up by Stevenson University, Greenspring campus. Lovely, quiet backroads and fall foliage.
