For those of you that would rather give "experience" presents, or if you have crafty people on your list: support great maker spaces like Open Works, Station North Tool Library, A Workshop of Our Own, Baltimore Jewelry Center, etc. by gifting a class or a membership.

Also, Mt. Royal Soaps, Black Acres Coffee, Thread Coffee, Atomic Pop, the BMA gift shop, the Ivy Book Shop, are some of my holiday go-tos. Creative Alliance and 2640 has had great pop-up shop events but can't confirm if there are ones happening this year. And it's too late for this year but for next year, I always found amazing prints to gift at SPX (Small Press Expo).

There's usually a bunch of popup/maker markets that happen around the holidays. I know last year, I went to ones at Ottobar and R House. Also, one at a brewery near Charles Village but I can't remember the name.

I bought the majority of my Christmas presents last year at the holiday market at R House. I live (and do most of my shopping) in Hampden. Some of my other go-to's for both gifts and myself: Greedy Reads and Mount Royal Soap in Remmington, Bird in Hand in Charles Village (technically a coffee shop but also has great books and home-goods) ; and perhaps my favorite- Tortuga in Lauraville.

Dreamers and drifters on Gough street in highlandtown. It’s not their permanent location but they have been there for a couple of months and it’s an awesome book/comic shop. If you know someone I to anything comic this is the place to go. Great kids selection too
