Honestly, talked with a "Bay Host" last night. Said the place was super easy with the cooks and food runners, they just needs more people to open the rest of the bays.

If you’re looking for something different, BARCS has been hiring for Animal Care Attendants and Adoption Counselors for ages.

I just saw an ad at Mi Comalita in charles village, but it looked like they mostly speak Spanish in the back of the house there. Ad was in spanish. Thought I saw another one recently and I will comment again if I can figure out where it was.

They mostly speak Spanish BOH in a lot of places...

Fair enough. I guess I should have said they mostly speak Spanish in the front of the house there too. Thought it might be useful for OP to know.

Yeah, good info, I'm just making a restaurant joke.

yeah lol I work in baltimore county but have worked in several restaurants. BoH spanish is almost a requirement. even the chefs speak broken english mostly. I expo and literally have to speak kitchen Spanish to the line every day. my conjugations arn't great and sometimes they look at me weird when I say shit like neccicito salsa para ensalada de casa or neccicito salsa de cabayo (salad of house dressing and sauce of horse literal translations) horseradish sauce for the second one.

The Nando’s at Baltimore street beefs up staff right now because of the Hippodrome show season. Now would be good to get in there.

MyCatisaStripper t1_ivbfp76 wrote

There's no restaurant staff or server tips...it's a cooking, bussing or front counter for staff there.

2

Unseemlyhero t1_ivbmijw wrote

OP has hosting and bussing experience. They have a host position and the food runner is a busser that delivers food also. I didn’t believe that OP was looking for a server job.

This is exactly the helpful type of info OP was looking for!

beastieboy2000 t1_ivb3i0s wrote

In all seriousness, it probably took more effort typing all this into Reddit, than just quickly Google searching, "restaurants near me," and then calling.

bluejegus t1_ivbfyeq wrote

Maybe he's looking for more personal recommendations, rather than a Google search which will give him many many options with few ways to narrow them down into actual good places to work.

OK what am I missing everybody’s down voting this, that actually sounds like a not a bad deal.

[deleted] OP t1_ivl94th wrote

Thank you, kind internet stranger.

Edit: Perhaps the op, is strictly wanting restaurant work only, which is fine. I thought that since someone suggested BARCS, I could suggest Amazon. If the op is truly desperate for a job he/she might take anything.
