And you’re an atlas shill.

Serious question: why does everyone hate atlas?
brocialism t1_iw701gu wrote
Because dozens of restaurants that are just boutique versions of Chili's get old. They also have racially motivated/selectively enforced dress codes.
rental_car_fast t1_iw7hxdu wrote
I see. Thanks!
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw7reje wrote
One incident at a restaurant got everyone fired up… they adjusted their dress code after that. So funny everyone calls the places racist… check out most of their places after 10 pm… it’s far from a lily white crowd…

That's the leadership team

Search atlas in the search bar in this group and read the slew of articles and discussions. O just type it into your Google search and you’ll find out why

There's like the same 50ish people on this sub who hate Atlas and think they are setting the narrative for Baltimore with their constant anti-Atlas rhetoric. The truth is Atlas wouldn't be as successful as they are and expanding constantly not just throughout the Baltimore region but DC, Annapolis, Philly, Texas, and FL if they weren't successful. I have no skin in the game with Atlas, I just find the constant anti-Atlas rhetoric on this sub ridiculous and boring, and I'm suspicious of the motives behind it. Perhaps it's people with failing restaurants badmouthing the successful competition? 🤔
DfcukinLite OP t1_iw6vpf5 wrote
Lol atlas aren’t “successful” because of merit. They’re billionaires children and grandchildren that were given a few restaurants on their families property harbor east in the four seasons with stolen concepts from chefs of merit, Then expanded chained versions of the same Restaurants in Texas, Florida and Annapolis. The DC locations aren’t doing that well and aren’t that popular because people in DC actually have taste. Atlas does well because all of their restaurants are on their family’s prime real estate in tourist areas and the steal ideas and poach talent from competitors. That’s it and all.

Sound a bit jealous of their wealth… who cares if they have money…. Spend it in Baltimore PLEASE!
DfcukinLite OP t1_iw7rwbu wrote
Lol nobody is jealous of their wealth. They’re scumbags in how they operate and run
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw7uqbk wrote
Aaaand… that is just Atlas management, right? The Pavlovian response to Atlas in Baltimore is just plain silly. Don’t fool yourself - you resent the wealth and entitlement.
DfcukinLite OP t1_iw7wurw wrote
Nope. Don’t care about that.
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw60517 wrote
Not everyone that appreciates what Atlas has brought to the relatively shitty Baltimore restaurant scene is a “shill” - we suck next to DC or many other major cities when it come to good food options…. We’d rarely dine downtown if it weren’t for Atlas. Stop hating on folks willing to pour money into our dying and (sadly) dangerous city. Embrace ANYONE willing to invest!
AMildPhenomenon t1_iw64h5u wrote
Tf? There are a thousand amazing restaurants in baltimore... they're just not downtown because why would they be? The only people going downtown are tourists and they get the tourists spots, like Atlas.
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw83elx wrote
Agree that Atlas is GREAT for tourism.

Hey! Go fuck yourself
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw7pze4 wrote
You sound pleasant. “Someone eats somewhere I don’t like - they should go fuck themselves.” Plenty more thing in Baltimore to be mad about other than a rich guy opening restaurants.
Prolapst_amos t1_iw66k8s wrote
Actually, fuck you and save your money? No one owes you shit and no one wants your pity.
EmbarassedGiraffe t1_iw7s94y wrote
People like you that hate and resent anyone with wealth are half the problem with this city. Money = Evil. But crime and drugs and poverty are fine and moral. Ok.
Prolapst_amos t1_iw7wwiz wrote
That’s a not what anyone said homey. You posited that we should be thankful to Atlas Restaurant Group; I’m informing you that no, dipshit, we’re fine otherwise.
If you want to cape for people who can win a rigged system that’s your business; those that know, know if you dig an inch into any story, you will find the networks of privilege.

Again, not unique to Atlas. Our city is poor and crime ridden and I want to see as much investment as possible - especially in the downtown harbor area. We aren’t going to survive without tourist dollars and investment in dining (and real estate, and schools). There are plenty of wealthy privileged folks around that have chosen NOT to spend their inherited millions on Baltimore. I’m happy to have anyone spend money in Baltimore. The negativity around wealth in this town is obnoxious. I’ll take investment in a bunch of differently themed restaurants than investment in casinos and casino restaurants downtown any day. That said, glad we have the casino money too- I’m not gonna hate on the wealthy casino owners (or sports team owners) either. Baltimore needs it. We are not “fine otherwise” - we need to fix a lot in Baltimore and it’s going to take money.

If you think Atlas is doing anything for the food scene in Baltimore, your soul is beyond redemption. But hey, at least you'll get to shake the owners' hands in hell?

Oh, my bad… all the restaurants In Baltimore are run by fine outstanding people, and only atlas is evil, so off to hell I go for eating at some of their restaurants.
