Wife and I have been pretty trapped at home since the birth of our second child a few months back. We live in Harford County, so by getting a nice break from the kids on a weekend coming up, we booked a hotel (Hyatt) and will see a show Saturday night at the Hippodrome.

We're trying to figure out where to treat ourselves to a nice dinner before the show. I don't think either of us want Charleston level dining, but a decent fancy meal and some nice cocktails. We really enjoyed our trip to Food Market in Columbia last year, but the Hampden location might be a bit too far for where we wanted to go. It's a reasonable backup plan at least.

I'm personally not really feeling yet another steak (make that for myself plenty at home), but if that's the best place, then we'll do it. We'll be decently dressed up, but I won't be in a suit. Is Fell's even really an option or is that cutting it too close on time? (would likely set a reservation for 5pm), even if Fell's did work, are the big places like Oyster House and Peter's Inn too casual? I don't do this enough so I don't want to screw it up :) Budget is probably around $300 or so, but open to flexibility in either direction. Thanks!

Definitely looked at it, but thought the BYOB would be a hard sell on the wife. She's looking forward to her first nice drink in a long time. If she wiggles on that, this looks quite tasty for sure

Peter's Inn is casual but the food and drinks are terrific. Marta is new and great. Little Donna's is also good but might be too casual. Cindy Lou's?

Folks in the Hippodrome subscribers group seem to love Sotto Sopra.

Make a point to park in the Grand Garage. It has an entry straight into the theater. Makes life easier, especially if the weather's crap.

Cinghiale in Inner Harbor East. Excellent food, cocktails, and service. A lovely restaurant.

Never been there myself, but heard good things about B&O American Brasserie!

Even ignoring any and all poor actions and messages from them, I'd rather not give money to a group trying to own everything in the city and would much rather support smaller enterprises.
