This is the most random post I’ve seen here in quite a while. Bravo 👏 Sorry I can’t help with the coconut part, but I hope you find what you’re looking for! :) :) :)

Editing to add: I just remembered that in the summer, there’s a TikiBar floating over around Little Havana—or at least, it used to be there (not sure what happened during the pandemic). But that seems like the most logical place where you’d find something like this. Good luck!

Tiki barge. I don’t remember seeing coconut vessels onboard, but they would for sure be the first place I’d check.

Pretty sure the tiki barge is permanently closed.

For about four years now if not longer.

Yeah unfortunately the Tiki barge has been abandoned for years. Never did go there.

I promised a buddy I'd take him out for a drink, and it evolved into one of those stupid drinks in a coconut with a little umbrella.

I am not above bringing empty coconuts to Pickles, but I wanna know my options.

moderndukes t1_j2avp6z wrote

Honestly, this is probably the easiest option.

Of course you’ll have to find coconuts first, though. Perhaps from a swallow.

I’m a regular at Pickles, so I’ll know it’s you if I happen to spot a random coconut in there hahaha 🤣

ArthurRiot OP t1_j2agde6 wrote

I would have to bring at least 3 then

You say that like it's a bad thing.

hold up what are the odds this becomes a reddit coconut night at this Pickles place?

Great! One to hold the bag of coconut halves, and the other to open the door.

thethighshaveit t1_j2ea8p3 wrote

Halves? No, that's the wrong way. You just want a hole in the top. The half will slosh all over the place, like trying to drink out of a paper bowl.

Since I have no actual experience in this field, I will bow to your presumably superior knowledge.

But my main thesis of using a bag still stands.

You can get a cocktail in a plastic pink flamingo at Wet City.

Have you tried Deez?

Dunno about coconuts, but if you’re looking for tiki cocktails, Heritage Smokehouse of all places has amazing tiki cocktails. I believe Sugarvale does tiki cocktails too. Not sure if it’s an every night thing. Lucky Buns was kind of scratching that itch too for awhile, but they abruptly closed a little while back. Still hoping someone at some point takes the plunge and goes all in on a real deal tiki bar like Archipelago in DC or Hidden Harbor in Pittsburgh.

ashalottagreyjoy t1_j2awv1j wrote

Oh! Wait! Maybe Bluebird?

Am I wrong in thinking they have a tiki night?

Yes! A tiki themed drink menu on Thursdays. More than likely have one in a coconut…?

11

ArthurRiot OP t1_j2axzsh wrote

This is a great answer! I'll look them up! Thanks!

bookoocash t1_j2b7ff7 wrote

Do they still do the tiki nights? We used to go a long while back, but then they stopped. Baltimore really needs a dedicated tiki spot. Archipelago in DC is great but just too damn far.

I'd check out the RoFo in Highland town.

I don't know a place that serves drinks in coconuts, but I don't think many bars would be against you bringing in your own hollowed out coconut to drink from.

You used to be able to get drinks in coconuts and pineapples at Mr. Nice Guy Cocktails before they closed last year. 🙁

UptownHiFi t1_j2b7i14 wrote

You are more likely to find a bar serving drinks in pineapples.
