Hmm, both the Bolton Hill and Greater Mondawmin numbers on the map in this article disagree with the ones on this Baltimore City Planning Department map, and even just going on shape of the tract it looks like the boundaries match. Do wish the article did the Google Maps overlay like the BCPD map.
Anyway, I hope the City at least follows through with some of the Druid Hill road diet stuff to give Mondawmin residents better pedestrian access to the zoo and the rest of Druid Hill Park (this sadly is one initiative that is probably not helped by the neighborhood skewing older).

I know the person who did that web app - it’s because the article just uses census tracts whereas the DoP used census blocks and aggregated up into custom geographies using a proportional split methodology, followed by some slight hand-aligning of groups to new geography. This means that some neighborhoods might have about 5-10% margin of error in population, however it’s important to remember that app is to provide general context/understanding with Baltimore’s super custom neighborhood geography

Excellent input. Came here to explain this as well.

Thanks for the explanation!
Figured it was some kind of binning discrepancy - to be clear you’re saying the DoP one has the 5-10% margin? Or the one presented in the article

DoP
And less binning and more different geographies/sampling methods.
