I got a tattoo on my ribs this summer that was supposed to be fine black line work of flowers. It ended up blowing out so the ink looks smeared, super disappointing. (Btw, the botched tattoo was done out of state, no baltimore tattoo artist was responsible lol.)

I want to get it corrected with color, shading, etc. Basically need to work with an artist to add on to the existing design so it looks better and more detailed. Are artists typically ok with this type of request or is it more unique thing to ask? I figure it may be a sensitive topic to ask someone to work with another artist’s design.

Reccs and advice welcome!

Clay at Mt Vernon Tattoo is great at doing cover-ups - although it's not an artist's favorite assignment, it's bread n' butter. He did a massive cover up and fix for me.

Pretty common, at least as long as the existing tattoo is workable. Red Thorne and Saints & Sinners are cool spots

I had a small tattoo that had blown out. I was getting a large piece done and the artist offered to do touch ups before we started. Super nice of them!

It may be nice to start a relationship with an artist through their work and then discuss their ability to help with touch ups!

It's a drive but Ian at Electric Tiger in Rehoboth Beach is great at cover ups. @deadinaweb on IG if you'd like to see his work
