I am struggling with Christmas gift ideas and want to do something unique and from a small business…. So send small business recommendations here! Hoping others see some ideas and are inspired to shop local.

This can literally be any type of item or gift- I want to hear what you think could be cool!

Pick up a small cooler, then get Frozen Crabcakes from Koko's and Ice cream from Taharka Brothers. Add some local beer if you want to complete the meal.

Well... if you consider food related items:

  • Firefly Farms has some nice boxes with cheeses

  • Yes, Chef in Locust Point has all local products. They have their own stuff but also some other things from local retailers. They also do meal delivery, so you could consider that as a gift card or something.

  • Dulceology boxes of Alajors are pretty and delicious.

  • Atwaters has some nice Jams/Bakery Items and the like

  • Give some beer from one of the many local breweries

Oh and not food related:

  • Hunt A Killer makes escape the room style board games and they are Baltimore based.

  • Baltimore Box has some fun Baltimore merch (including Mr. Trash Wheel!)

  • And for a crafty type person, Lovely Yarns in hampden has a lot (if not all) local yarns and offers classes for things like learning to knit/crochet/etc.

  • I'm not sure if they do, but maybe Mobtown Ballroom does gift certificates for dance/circus lessons?

  • I love the ceramics of [Samantha Briegel!] (https://www.samanthabriegel.com/)

  • Plantacea in Fed Hill always has such nice plants!

Good luck!

I would recommend stopping by the 32nd St Farmers Market on Saturday 7AM-12PM. There are a lot of vendors for things beside produce/grocery items. My personal favorite that I have gotten gifts for family members at least 2 years now is Max's Degrees for spice blends, smoked salts, & seasonings(my dad is big on cooking so he always loves a new spice blend). There was also a vendor we got some flavored olive oils for my brother & sister-in-law. Cheers and happy holidays!
