Closest I've seen is /u/TopS3cr3t who does privy digging throughout the city, and recently has been posting more about magnet fishing in the harbor

It was /u/TopS3cr3t's magnet fishing posts that prompted me to post. Neither the privy digging or the magnet fishing are exactly what I'm after, but I love following his finds. I'm looking for combing "beaches," shorelines, even river beds, for treasures.

/u/blsavarese - there are a few folks that do it along Back River, Middle River, and Bush River.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the Maryland Natural History Society does field trips to beaches to look for fossils.

(They're also a neat little museum and worth a visit.)
