Mr Cork is awesome. Also check out the library systems both city and county do story times. We did swim lessons at the Y and realllly loved them. Met some great people and the instructors were amazing. Cost was minimal compared to swim lessons anywhere else. When they get older, du burns does “gymnastics” classes

Select city schools have Judy Centers that often run playgroups and events. The school I teach at has one and we have babies in for playgroup at least once a week.

Coolprogeny.com has stuff every week. Outdoor music gatherings are great, especially smaller ones (think one person and a guitar), and, my wife is on a facebook group for Baltimore moms that has been invaluable.

It’s called mobtown moms the exchange II on fb. You have to be invited to join by a member. But it’s easy to get someone to request your invite.

I would suggest joining neighborhood pages on FB and sometimes there are parenting groups for respective neighborhoods. I’ve met a lot of good friends through those. Creative alliance has some Kerplunk programs for adults and kids. AVAM has fun ones throughout the year that are usually free. The library is great for activities if the child isn’t in daycare/school. Nature centers have good events too.

The exchange is the second iteration if I'm not mistaken as it got too large? I feel like starting one might be a good route. We used it a ton when out child was younger.

Honestly having young kid is like a second college. Everyone with kids the same age is desperate to hang out. When summer comes around you can just put a kiddie pool in front of your stoop and bam instant friends

The recs for libraries and Mr Cork are spot on, but also you can just go to any random playground mid-morning or mid-afternoon (i.e. not nap or meal times) and there will likely be at least a couple sets of parents and/or nannies there.
