Dog crying all night in Charles village

I'm staying in Charles village near to the Chipotle and Starbucks for reference. There's a dog, I think possibly left out in the cold, crying all night. I can't place where exactly it's coming from and it's been a few days as well. Honestly I'm so worried, and I can't find him either. Does anyone in this area know what's going on? I'm scared for the little guy.

Edit: I have reported it to 311 and sent an email to Humane society and Animal Abuse council as well. I didn't hear the dog tonight except at like 5:30 am when it seemed to have been let out, but I hope they take action quickly.

Call 311. Report an abandoned animal and where you think the sound is coming from.

Call BARCS directly. Report an abandoned animal.

Call animal control. Report an abandoned animal.

Worst that happens is that they blow you off, but with the cold the way it is, it’s more likely someone will come to attempt to locate the dog.

I hope they help you; and I hope this dog gets inside. :/

one of my neighbors leaves his outside all the time. it was crying last few days. he had it out friday night when it was single digits. short of calling the police on the owners i have done everything i can to try and get some help for that dog but neither hoa or animal control wants to do shit. the sad thing is there's so many people who see what is happening and they all are dog owners so it's sad.

how that dog survives is beyond me.

Call BARCS. They’re more likely to get involved peacefully and try to make a better life for the dog.

They’re not always able to - a small organization - but they do their absolute best to respond to complaints of abandoned or abused animals and will take them in to be cared for.

It’s too cold for pets to have to go through this. 😔

Don’t call BARCS- call Animal Control. They will take it to BARCS if they seize it.

yea man.. someone suggested i try barcs but i am not baltimore based.. guess i will try my counties animal control again.. all i can do is keep trying i guess.

What county are you in? thanks for the link. i will look into it. i am avoiding the police route because if i do that there is going to be some blowback and with two senior parents at home and working nights i can't risk the dog owners starting something. i assume i wont be anonymous if i go the police route so i am weighing my options.

while i want to try whatever safe methods i can to try and help the dog out i also am not looking to get jammed up trying to save it's life. i know that's a shitty thing to say but i'm just being honest about it.

Yeah... unfortunately you are right. The police would find a way to make this go as badly as possible. I wouldn't trust them either. Isn't that fucking sad?

i could but that would probably put me in some legal jam and constitute stealing. i'll just keep calling animal control till they get annoyed and do something about it. not getting my hopes up though.

if you see human being treating their pet like that it tells you a lot about what kind of person they are so if i try to "liberate" their dog and get caught i am only inviting all kinds of legal and physical problems on myself. best to just continue to pursue legal options to try and help the dog out.

i'm not giving up on that dog. that much i know.

hmmm ok.. i think they have him inside today.. i have not seen him since coming home this morning from work but i will keep an eye on it.. i was looking into my counties rules as far as documenting to make a stronger case.. i already have one short video of the dog jumping up and down outside the back door into the backyard.. maybe it may make the case for them to take action better if i send some videos or something.

but like i said i'm not gonna give up and do what i can to a safe extent of trying to help the pup out. thanks for the link again.
