Sometimes I like to go to R House, but it can be noisy at times so I only do that if I don’t have phone calls to make.

CoBalt on 36th street in Hampden. I think their day passes are $20. I’ve gone there whenever there have been power or cable outages in my neighborhood.

I’ve tried working at coffee shops and such, but I’ve found that my productivity takes a hit from the distractions. CoBalt is really quiet and chill. I always get a lot done when I work there.

If its nice out you can try Good Neighbor and sit outside. Inside is fine too but it can get a little noisy.

  • Ceremony Coffee. Limited power outlets at most locations, but my favorite coffee and the baristas are super skilled.
  • The Bun Shop (can be kinda dim and makes me sleepy cause it's so cozy inside)
  • Good Neighbor. GREAT coffee and staff rocks.
  • Enoch Pratt Central Library is HUGE and often pretty easy to find a secluded spot to work.
  • Whitehall Mill has lots of seating and many of the booths have outlets!
  • Outside or inside of the food halls: R. House or Mount Vernon Marketplace, depending on the weather. Both locations can get noisy!
  • Soup's On has a few tables if you're careful with your soup and just want a quick outing. I try not to overstay my welcome here since the seating is limited.
  • I've seen people sitting outside of Dooby's when they're closed and using the wifi, haha.
  • If you aren't doing anything that requires crazy data, you can use a hotspot at almost any park :)

In the four years I’ve lived here, there has only been one outage long enough to justify a generator (a big storm last summer). Experiences probably vary neighborhood to neighborhood though

garbage everywhere, stains and spills all over the floor, carts everywhere, crappy music playing, out of service bathrooms.

Although...now that I think about it, i might be thinking about the Wegmans in Reisterstown, not Towson Whole foods.

In fact, after looking it up - that's definitely what I'm talking about. Edited original comment
