I've been noticing the large tag "Erode" spraypainted all over the city and I'm mildly curious about it. Is it just one prolific tagger's tag? A gang I haven't heard about? Some social message about the blight I often see it sprayed on? Or is it just a normal amount of graffiti I'm noticing more after seeing it once?

It's one person. Other taggers probably know who they are, and this sort of conversation is exactly the kind of recognition that motivates them.

A shame they feel the need to vandalize other people's property to get validation.

Graffiti keeps rent low.

Murder keeps rent low.

An active hate group keeps rent low.

A nearby biohazard keeps rent low.

Graffiti probably contributes to our declining population, which keeps property taxes high, which gets passed on to renters.

You know, I never thought of it that way. Graffiti = murder. Consider my mind changed. 🙄

Hell, half the time I see it it's on boarded up houses that even if there is an owner, they obviously haven't taken care of the property in years
