All my amazing wife wants to do for our anniversary is to order some chicken parm and drink some wine. Who’s got the best chicken parm for takeout/delivery? Thanks

There is a chicken parm on Hersh’s menu right now that I would eat every day if I could.

I've never had a single item at Hersh's that wasn't fantastic. I need to try this.

DiPasquale's doesn't have chicken parm but they have veal or eggplant parm and everything they do is delicious.
jaLissajous t1_j4bsg76 wrote
No? They have a “Chicken Parmigiana” it’s pretty good.
TheSpektrModule t1_j4btafo wrote
Oh, I must have missed that on the menu.

It would have been a big flex to do eggplant and veal Parmigiano and not chicken haha

Sabatinos by far

Amicci's for a nice sit down, but I prefer Di'Pasquale's by far. Great food, great menu, and the best Italian deli/grocery this side of Jersey.
They close early. If an evening is what you need, keep this place in mind for a lunch or takeout run.
The stuffed peppers and artichokes are to die for.

I still believe Pizza di Joey on cross st market has the best! It’s not always available though :/

Make her chicken parm at home. I can’t think of a restaurant that makes it any more delicious than I can make it myself!
MazelTough t1_j4eq6iu wrote
I’m with this. I really like the ALDI special select marinara and vodka sauces they have now. Go to Nature’s Pantry and get some local happy chicken. Make some local veg with their smoked salt. Pick up some pastries and crusty bread at Ovenbird. Bin 604 for wine and more fancy pastry action should it be needed.
We are not really strangers or the skin deep make couples cards with questions on them.

Tagliata
sllewgh t1_j4buhux wrote
Fuck no, it's not Tagliata, unless your wife is after the most mediocre overpriced Italian food in the city. Even setting aside the fact that it's Atlas, it's just not very good.
ballzdeep499 t1_j4bwqfc wrote
Where would you say, because it is far better than 99% of chicken parm that I have had and I am a very critical diner
sllewgh t1_j4bzn60 wrote
Sabatinos is my personal go-to for Italian. I used to bartend in that area and people raved about Tagliata and I don't know why. I found nothing to recommend the overpriced food at that place besides the parm cheese they serve off the block with the bread. It's not bad food, it's just unimpressive for the price.
FLIIeaglesFLII t1_j4clka2 wrote
You just sound like every other salty anti-Atlas person (which I understand to an extent). However, their food is delicious and they have a great atmosphere. Overpriced? Sure, but if you don't like it then just don't go.
sllewgh t1_j4cm8w6 wrote
Anti-Atlas folks would tell you to avoid Tagliata because of Atlas. I'm telling you to avoid it because of the mediocre, overpriced food. This is a thread about soliciting opinions on food, so you can miss me with that "just don't go" bullshit.
ballzdeep499 t1_j4d757q wrote
Yea you’re definitely wrong about mediocre food, overpriced sure. A lot of their restaurants I would agree about the food being mediocre but the chef at Tagliata is incredible.
sllewgh t1_j4db5ba wrote
You're entitled to your low standards. I'm not gonna argue.
ballzdeep499 t1_j4dby2f wrote
Lol, I’ve worked in the best restaurants through md and dc and dined in a lot of the best restaurants in the world. I actually have extremely high standards, but unfortunately most people don’t know what good food is or let their personal biases influence their opinions.

Well I respectfully disagree and will continue to go. Have a great day pal.

Im embarrassed at how much I enjoyed their chicken parm. This subreddit acts like Atlas killed their dog and fed it to them though.
ballzdeep499 t1_j4d6w0m wrote
I knew people would be dismissive, I’ll never understand the hate for those guys.
Regardless of personal stances the chicken parm is great as far as chicken Parms go and the chicken Marsala is even better
