Any suggestions for a good lunch place near Walter’s Art Museum open on Sunday? Budget is not really an issue. The few good places I found were closed Sunday’s.

Try Mount Vernon Marketplace, Dooby`s, Poets at Hotel Indigo, Ash at Hotel Ulysses, Marie Louise Bistro, Unity Bar and Restaurant, Darker than Blue (reservations required).
One more: EDR Eat Drink Relax (in the old City Cafe space)
Didn’t know Unity had opened — good call-out.
I now realize lots of places are either closed on Sunday (like Topside) or don’t open until 5.
CIVIL might be of interest, as well as Dooby’s.
My. Vernon Marketplace is a great choice for a Sunday lunch.
I love the food at Indochine
Ah I would love that but my wife doesn’t like Vietnamese food.
Vermicelli is like the least offensive thing ever made lol
Allora
Not a restaurant, but you should try the ice cream two blocks over at Cajou Creamery. It’s so good.
Good call — Cajou is great, but fair warning, it’s 5 blocks and .3 miles away from Walters. A walk Im easily willing to make, but others might not want to.
That being said, if OP is already going to Mt Vernon Marketplace (which IMO seems like the best option) that’s literally just a block and a half from Cajou.
Cafe Fili, Marie Louise Bistro, Allora, Ash Bar at Ulysses.
What are you looking for? Table service? Just good food? Brunch-type food? Lunch? Drinks?
Just good food, regular or brunch. Probably American or Italian food. My wife doesn’t like to venture far outside of her American food comfort zone. I would love to check out cafe fili but my wife would have no interest.
She did not seem interested in alloras menu either.
Have you thought about you each going to a different place, getting to-go orders, and meeting back up somewhere to eat together? Honestly it sounds like you and your wife have very different palates and it seems like she’s not interested in trying something outside of her comfort zone. That’s a bummer.
It’s her birthday so I’d really like to find a nice spot she’d enjoy haha.
Aw, I understand. It’s very sweet that you are wanting to make it a special day for her. :) Unfortunately I don’t have any recommendations but hopefully someone else here will!
Go with Marie Louise. It's not going to be too unfamiliar, and the atmosphere is lovely.
Mount Vernon Marketplace is a fun food hall with a variety of options and just a few blocks from the Walters. It's definitely more casual, but you can bring food from any of the stalls to eat at the Center Bar if you want drinks.
I am so sorry you're limited to just a few options! Mount Vernon has some great food, but most of the nicer places are not "American-style" cuisine tbh.
The Mount Vernon Marketplace would be a safe bet since it's a large, food-court style place.
Marie Louise Bistro if you're willing to spend some coin? The menu leans French/Mediterranean, but they still have mac & cheese, hanger steak sandwich, croque madame as just a fancy ham and cheese sandwich?
I've heard positive things about Poet's Modern Cocktails and Eats, too! Not too far of a walk from the Museum. Warning that according to reviews, the in-person menu may be different from their online menu (the parent company of the hotel has yet to change it??)
Personally, I need to go check out The Royal Blue-- a newer bar/restaurant but the menu looks great!
Given your wife’s preferences, I’m inclined to suggest B & O Brasserie, .4 miles down Charles Street. It’s relatively fancy and solidly “upscale mainstream American”.
The only thing is that their hours on Sundays are 8-12, then opens again at 5. You would be looking more at late breakfast/early brunch.
It’s a great spot — I’ve celebrated my birthday there in years past.
Otherwise, CIVIL, EDR (Eat Drink Relax), and some places in Mt Vernon Marketplace might work. My only reservation with Mt Vernon Marketplace is that the options are quite diverse in terms of cuisine styles (off the top of my head, Asian dumplings, tacos, Korean/fusion, ramen). There is a great oyster place, a good burger place, and a fish place (Fishnet). All are fun, but they seem less “birthdayish” to me.
If you switch over to having dinner, a number of other options open up, including the classic Sotto Sopra (Italian) down the street between Walters and B & O Brasserie (right near the Cathedral). Sammy’s Trattoria also opens at 5, and is the opposite direction (north).
Topside
Closed on Sundays.
