You’re correct. I personally love bloody Mary’s and also love old bay and it’s just kinda gross.

I don’t think I’ve ever had it.

I love old bay bloody Mary’s. I just put it in myself.

Yeah it's not that good. I wasn't a big fan of the old bay hot sauce either. If I want something to taste like old bay, I'll add it in myself. If I want extra hot old bay, I'll add the heat myself.

Not blasphemy. Old bay is great in bloody Marys, but store bought mixers are almost always inferior to a homemade version.

Edit: I will usually make a pitcher of bloody Mary mix using spicy V8 or low sugar tomato juice, horse radish, black pepper, lemon/lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, red miso paste, old bay, a decent hot sauce (but cayenne pepper or Tabasco works in a pinch), and sometimes pickle juice. I serve the pitcher virgin with liquor on the side so people can pour their own ratios, The ingredients ratio is largely to taste when I do this.

It's not just inferior to homemade, it's inferior to any mix I have had. It's so bad, it's one of those products that makes you shake your head and wonder what was going on at McCormick that this is the final product they rolled out.

Which make? There’s multiple varieties of bloody mix with old bay. The one I’ve tried is good

Old bay Bloody Mary mix is trash.

Old bay beer is trash.

The obsession with Ekiben is not deserved. It’s just chicken.

What, I thought we were posting blasphemous opinions?!

To be clear, you are not saying Bloody Marys with old bay are terrible. You are saying that Old Bay has a branded Bloody Mary mix that is terrible, which is not really blasphemous at all?

There is absolutely no valid reason to put Old Bay seasoning in a Bloody Mary

No argument from me. It's always better to make your own anyway.

I think it is the tamarind paste that throws off the flavor a lot in the Old Bay branded Bloody Mary mix (besides maybe a pinch too much of Old Bay, which I know is unheard of, especially with the need for rimmers of it on Bloody Marys)... Gives it almost like a BBQ aftertaste for some reason, and not in a good way... And I'm a fan of tamarind so don't know what's up with it. Definitely needs fresh lemon and lime, and to be diluted with a bit more something...

Never had the Old Bay one but sounds terrible. Mr and Mrs T’s is the best mix I’ve tried so I just stick with that brand

I always thought I didn’t like Bloody Mary’s until I made one from scratch. Turns out I hated the premade mixes.
