I am newer to Baltimore and am looking for a good stylist for straight, fine hair for a cut and highlight. It’s such a risk to randomly choose someone. I live in the city, and I am willing to drive to the burbs for the right place. Any recommendations? I would much appreciate it! I don’t know anyone yet to ask. Thanks!

I also have straight, fine hair, and I was looking for a new hairstylist a few years ago. I tried Tucker Rose salon in Hampden- and it was nice, but not exactly what I was looking for. I mention it for an idea to try out!

I ended up checking out Krista in Patterson Park east on a recommendation from a friend, and she's great! I've been going to her ever since for the past few years, here's her facebook page .

Lock and Hue at Whitehall Mill in Woodberry

I personally go to Vijay, but it wouldn’t hurt to check out the other stylists’ portfolios to make sure what you have in mind aligns with their work. That said, Vijay is really good, approachable, and upfront about what he can or can’t do.

(In response to other posts here: I have friends who’ve gone to Crafted and Fringe and liked them, too.)

I highly recommend Danielle at Full Bloom hair studio! She tends to book out fairly far in advance but for good reason… she’s amazing

I have very fine, straight hair that needs someone very precise. I also highlight my hair. These are the people I’ve gone to over the past 15-20 years. I’ve changed stylists based on my home or work location over the years. I’ve been to all 4 in the past 3 years. Now, I’m back with MaKenzie since her salon is very close. They are all very talented with cut and color.

Nikki or Autumn at NV Salon Collective in Hampden. https://www.nvsalonco.com/about

Bethany Pontier at Charm Cult Craft. I think she just moved her studio to Lauraville.

MaKenzie at Mallia Salon & Spa in Middle River

Lisa or Sam at Rebel Revival. They are in Parkville. All Wella trained and certified masters. Amazing at what they do.
