Hubby and I find ourselves with an hour (or more) to kill on a date night we’ll be spending at The Lyric. We’re already taking a Lyft from home to dinner, then dinner to the venue. Kinda hoped to avoid a third Lyft to a cocktail stop in between…but there’s nothing near the dinner spot and not super familiar with the area around the Lyric. Hoping Reddit can provide some suggestions!

Sugarvale is walkable, a little further than the other options but for cocktails is a good bet

This is the best option in terms of quality of cocktails, but it is about a half-mile schlep up Cathedral, sections of which are kind of a blah walk (that whole MLK / Park / Biddle mess around the symphony)

They do cocktails at Noona's, just a little ways down Mt Royal.

CookHouse in Bolton Hill is about a half-mile from the Lyric, and a little $wankier than Noona's, if you want to uber there for cocktails and then walk to the show.

Depending on your desire to walk, Topside at Hotel Revival, or Ash at Hotel Ulysses.

second Sammy's. I went a few months ago for the 1st time ever before an event. It was an easy, cozy, no fuss but good place. And super easy brief walk!

Brewer's Art or Royal Blue, hands down. Owl Bar is OK.

Were you seeing Jim Gaffigan? How was he? My wife and I are going tonight! We’ve seen him a couple times but I’m interested to hear some new material!

It's not too far from Owl Bar. I'd go there on a date night and then walk to the Lyric.

The Brass Tap is a 3 min walk. It just your average bar but they have a large spirit and ale variety. They are known for their mimosas so have some bartending skills. Good reviews!
