Just moved to the area with our three cats ranging from 1 to 13 years old, and looking for the best vet in the area. They get super stressed at the vet, so calm and quiet offices are a huge plus. Does anyone have experience using one of the mobile vets I’ve seen here? Or the Cat Hospital at Towson? Thanks!

Everthart is fantastic! They have locations just south of the city and in Cross Keys

I was just on the hunt for a new vet for my cat a month or so ago, and my research overwhelmingly pointed to Everhart. So glad I went with them! My cat is extremely anxious at the vet, too, and Everhart's layout and staff couldn't have made it better for my baby.

Quality of Care: Once you check in, they have a space where you can let your animal play (so I hear), but usually they just take you right to the exam room. It's super spacious, not full of cold steel, and the vet and techs were all extremely reassuring (to both me and my cat). There are little boxes for the cats to hide/explore in in each room which was a thoughtful touch.

They noticed when my cat was anxious or feeling squirrelly and respected his space which made him feel so safe and secure (a FIRST for my cat at the vet)!! They were so kind, accommodating, and understanding. AND I'm almost 100% certain the vet stayed late just to answer my long list of questions; something most vets would brush off. We got some cute homemade bandanas on our way out that we ended up taking xmas photos with! I can't sing their praise enough. You can really tell they love and care for the animals they treat.

Full-Service: They also have their surgery and urgent care hospital in-house, which ultimately made it a no-brainer for me. I like that my cat will already be an existing patient if I ever have to take him to the pet-ER again.

Cost: I researched and compared the cost of care for routine trips (like vaccines) and as unforeseen worst-case scenario events all of the good vets in Baltimore City and County. Everhart was the cost-effective move overall. I felt a thousand times more confident knowing that I'm getting top-quality care without having to compromise my limbs.

I want to second You’ll Never Walk Alone. My cat got very sick last year and they took incredible are of her. They didn’t push any unnecessary tests or treatment which I’ve come to expect at most vets these days.

The part that really impressed me were the follow up calls I received after our visit to make sure that the treatment was working. Even my own PCP doesn’t do that.

I love this comment. The overall vibe there is that you and your pets are seen as individuals, and not just numbers.

Oh absolutely! Plus the exam rooms are really nice! There’s chairs for the humans and castles for the kitties to play in, they’re spacious and quiet and good for nervous animals.

You'll Never Walk Alone did a great job with my (recently acquired) scared, shut down (yet feisty), elderly rescue cats.

I was dreading the visit, given how tense the cats are. But we were put in a exam room right away, the techs and the vet were really great with them, and the vet bill was lower than I anticipated.

Everyone was very caring and thorough, and no one was put off by the hissing and claws.

Another vote for You'll Never Walk Alone. Dr. Kip has been volunteering with cat rescues for years and he's great at handling even the wildest of cats. One of my cats is the sweetest and friendliest guy at home and he turns into a demon at the vet. He purred through his last appt with Dr. Kip.

Everyone at their office is really nice. They can always get us in quickly (usually in less than 48hrs) and their prices are amazing. I can't say enough good things about them!

I love Evergreen for my cat. Super calm environment, and they will give medication if necessary.

Third for Evergreen. It’s a fear-free clinic and my cats have seen Dr. Barker for the past 8 years. (Evergreen is her own place, she worked in multiple area clinics before this).

Fourth for Evergreen. Took my first kitten there and both the tech and the vet were very friendly and welcoming. They answered all of my questions (and I had a lot) professionally and were transparent about pricing.

Don’t go to Lutherville Animal Hospital. Animal Medical Clinic on York and Ridgely is great though.

Academy is great. They have you wait in your car and people come in one at a time so my cats never see other animals. They did a good job of completing an exam on my cats who were freaking out

While not in Baltimore, Cat Sense is a great cat-only veterinarian in Bel Air (Harford County).

I’ve heard great things about them, but wonder about the 30+ minute drive. If they’re truly a stand-out excellent vet, I’m willing to try them!

I do recommend them, but also that may be a bit of a long drive for already stressed cats!

I've used Home Vets, one of the mobile vets. I did like them, it's that my cats were way to feisty at home, I learned it's best to take them to an office, where they just freeze and let the vet do what is needed. I would recommend Home Vets to other people.

Light St animal hospital if in or around Fed. Dr T is the best when he returns to work.

Hows he doing anyway? I don't have pets anymore so I sadly hadn't given him a thought until I heard the news.

He’s ok. We get text message updates. I think he is in PT now.

I really like the people at Belvedere Veterinary Center--my pets and I are out of the Baltimore area through the summer, and while the vets where we are now are very nice, I miss the staff at Belvedere. I was going to name one or two of the vets there to recommend, but honestly, all four are great.

May be out of the way depending on where you live, but I love Owings Mills Vet Center. Their pricing is fair and I’ve had great experiences with all of the techs and vets there. Front desk staff are great as well.
