It's pretty cold where I am, so my favorite position is on the floor with my back to the radiator. Or with kindle completely buried under a pile of blankets

On the couch bundled up in blankets, book against my knees with a hand on top and my dog and cat on me or in bed on my side with the book on my bed. Both with YouTube ambience music playing and some tea ☕️ I try to make a nice moment when reading, it’s a little treat for me.

But I do listen to audiobooks as well doing literally anything and everything because I too have a very tiring day and fall asleep after like 3 chapters lol

I really like having an audiobook I'm listening to that I enjoy. It really motivates me to clean my house and do chores, go out for walks, etc. Things that make me feel productive even though I was essentially just 'reading' the whole time.

Though, I've been reading classics and they often don't translate well into audiobooks

For me it really relies on a good narrator. Especially if one is not native to the area and is faking an accent like southern US based books read by someone from California Lol no hate to booking the gig but The Clampetts aren’t the base for a good rustic vernacular 😅

Reading IS a treat! That’s why it’s frustrating how it quite feels physically tiring. Thank you! I’ll try the pillow/blanket on lap method. :)

Yea just prop it on a pillow or your knees and hold the base with a finger or two. But I totally get your grievance because some of these hardbacks are like unwinding with an encyclopedia lol

I read sitting-up with my feet propped up. I use a folded blanket in my lap to hold my book so that I'm not required to actually hold the book with my hands. I just rest my fingers on the pages to keep them from flipping.

I cycle through every position known to man.

I have bad pain in my hands so I usually sit with a pillow on my lap and the book resting on the pillow. Then you can hold the book in place with minimal effort. For heavier books I use my kindle, you can also get a basic phone/tablet stand and be even more hands free.

Sitting or lying on couch, standing in line waiting for any reason, on the toilet, on my side every night before falling asleep.

I’ve found also that I probably use the smartphone as much as a paper weight to keep book pages open as to mindlessly scroll through.

I read on my side, swapping sides every three or so pages.

Usually in bed, or lying down somewhere under a blanket. Or, in a comfy chair.

In a chair with blanket or pillow propping the book up, sometimes sitting at a table like a proper student, and also just holding it while I circumambulate my furniture.

Curled into the corner of my couch, one arm on the armrest, cat behind my knees. I use one of those triangle shaped pillows that is sold as a tablet stand. Works both when I read from Kindle on my ipad and for hardbacks books or paperback books. For physical books, I just usually rest my fingers at the bottom of the page to keep pages from flipping.

I pace a lot when I'm reading on my kindle, just up and down my hallway lol
